What features the pricey Companion tablets on both Windows 8 and Android platforms?

Wacom company is well known for their professional digital graphics styluses and drawing tablets and today, the company unveiled a couple of tablets aimed at that particular demographic, the Cintiq Companion, that’s being designed for the serious graphics artist and designer who wants to work on the go.

The Wacom Cintiq Companion will come in two models, the reason for the companion title. Both will have a 13.3 inch touchscreen, a third generation Intel Core processor and 8 GB of memory inside, along with an adjustable stand and 8 megapixel camera. One model will have a standard version of Windows 8 installed with 256 GB of SSD storage and the price of $1,999. The other model will have Windows 8 Pro and 512 GB of SSD storage for $2,499 only.

The company’s other tablet runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. This one is more affordable Android-based alternative that will be released in September, carrying a $1500 and $1600 price tag for its 16- and 32GB variants respectively. What truly makes it special, however, is that the Hybrid can be connected to a Mac or a PC, acting a second screen on which one can draw. Hardware specs include a 13.3-inch display with resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, NVIDIA’s quad-core Tegra 4 SoC, and 2GB of RAM, meaning that the device will rank among the most capable Android slates on the market. Wacom’s Pro-Pen is also bundled with the device, along with the Wacom Creative Canvas software.
