TerraTime is an application for Android Smartphone’s and tablets which puts you in touch with the natural, global rhythm of daylight, weather, and seasons. A visually stunning real-time virtual Earth app. It’s fed by satellite imagery to display day/night, clouds, seasons, sun, moon and more. Day/night clock (with widget) tracks phases of the moon, sunrise, sunset and transit times.
The Globe – The World in the Palm of your Hand:
A live view of 3D simulation of the Earth in space! Turn your phone to see the other side of the planet; give the globe a spin with the touch-screen. The night shadow travels across the globe, seasonal changes come and go, and the clouds move every few hours.
The TerraTime Globe is built on the fly from high-resolution NASA images, rendered with your phone’s 3-D hardware, and uses it’s position sensors to respond to your movements. The result is an engaging, astronaut’s-eye view of a virtual Earth on your device’s screen. A static screenshot doesn’t begin to do it justice; you really need to try it for yourself!
In addition to controlling your viewpoint over the planet, you also have a full range of other options:
Clock – A clock with a twist:
The face is partitioned into day and night, showing at a glance how many hours of each are remaining. It also shows sunrise, solar noon, sunset, twilight, moon visibility, and stars – all accurate for today at your current location. You can add the TerraTime Clock to your device’s home screen as a widget, giving you at-a-glance access to its features – as well as the current time, of course
A variation on the TerraTime Clock is called Compass Mode, accessed through the app’s Menu. It displays a live compass dial showing the direction to the sun and moon, as well as their rising and setting points. The face of the Compass uses the same color-coding as the Clock – sky blue for the region of the sky where the sun is above the horizon, and black (with stars) where it’s
Permissions: Full Internet access
