TD Bank Now Shows Up As Supported On Android Pay’s Website

Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD Bank) customers could be the happiest guys this festive session, with the introduction of Android Pay by TD Bank.

Android Pay launched in September, and since then, TD Bank customers have had to do without support. Despite being an American branch, the option to add their TD Bank cards simply hasn’t been an option. But now, things have turned around. The Android Pay website now lists TD Bank as supported.

Interest has been there since Android Pay arrived in September, with folks living in the US and Canada alike eager for this news to arrive.

Folks in the comments have chimed in to confirm that support is live.

This addition puts TD Bank alongside the likes of American Express, Bank of America, Citi, Discover, Navy Federal Credit Union, PNC, Regions, USAA, US Bank, and Wells Fargo. Unlike Capital One, it doesn’t show up as coming soon.

Android Pay uses Near Field Communication or NFC to connect with the payment terminal at your favorite merchant. This way you can pay for your items that you’re buying without pulling out your wallet. Simply tap your phone to the terminal and then you’ll complete your transaction through your smartphone. And if you have a Nexus 5X or Nexus 6P, you can authenticate the purchase using Nexus Imprint or the fingerprint scanner. This way you don’t have to remember a PIN ever again. We’ve all been there where we forget the PIN for our debit card for our bank account. Being able to authenticate via a fingerprint gets rid of that, very easily.
