Some useful android applications for musicians

This is a short list of apps that you may find useful if you are in the music 🙂

RD3 – Groovebox – this is the best groove box for Android I have seen so far. It comes in free DEMO version and FULL paid one. This app really looks like a real thing as you can easily create your own beats with drums and bass line. The control is really easy and fun.

Here is the official info:

“It combines a 303-style synthesizer and a drum machine with different drum kits. Create grooves on-the-go with these machines that defined the sound of early electronic dance music.”

RD3 – Groovebox features:

1. Virtual analog synthesizer
2. 3 types of waveforms
3. Reminiscent of the legendary 303 synthesizer
4. High-quality or regular filter modes
5. Drum machine with 8 drum kits: 808, 909, 606, CR-78, Linn, KR55, RZ1, DMX
6. Real-time step sequencer
7. 4 bars with 16 steps per instrument
8. 3 play modes: Solo, loop or random

Solo this app is for the song writers. You can add the cords of your song and preview (play them) with simple acoustic or electric guitar sounds. Solo costs about 4$ and also has a free version Guitar : Solo Lite

TouchDAW is yet the bst MIDI controller for android. It uses the system MIDI drivers so you can use it to control almost all of the PC DAWs from your phone or tablet. Note that it requires some user experience to make it work. This app also has a free and a paid version. the link is to the free one.
