MX Player, one of the most used video players on Google Play Store (it’s my favourite video player on my phone too) but the player did not have for support Android versions 4.4.1 and 4..4.2 . Those who immediately upgraded to 4.4.1 lost access to MX Player and were instead they bumped into a popup: “Unsupported Android Version.” A really annoying popup right?
It is good news for Android fans to hear that over the weekend, an updated flavour of the popular MX Player was released in the Google Play Store. The update brings along support for the latest flavour of Google’s mobile operating system, Android 4.4.1 and Android 4.4.2.
The update pushes MX Player into version 1.7.21, and it’s ready for download. Now it features a series of stability enhancements packed inside, so as to resolve the disappointing crashes that occurred on some Android 4.3 and 4.4 devices. Thanks to the update, the app now support Android 2.1 up to the latest version of Android, 4.4.2.
If you want maximum utilization of MX Player on your device, you need to install the latest build of the custom codec for MX Player, as version 1.7.20 won’t work with it. Once you’ve done that you will be able to enjoy watching movies while on the go, courtesy of support for multi-core decoding.
MX Player is a product of J2 Interactive and this application looks good both on Android smartphones and Tablets. The player supports DVD, DVB, SSA/ASS Subtitle tracks and more.
Here are some cool features of the app:
