LG G Watch R Vs. Samsung Gear S

Ahead of IFA set for 3 September 2014, Samsung and LG have already spilled the beans on their upcoming flagship Smart watches. Both have announced their latest smart-watches, LG has Watch R while Samsung has Gear S. The two companies are based in South Korean, but each is fighting to win the hearts of most shoppers in the world for its product.  But who benefits out of this? It’s us the consumers!

Samsung’s Gear S

This watch has built in 3G connectivity, so it supports SIM card. It is the only mainstream smartwatch that can work its mojo without a paired phone. The Gear S can also pair with a phone, probably Android if not Samsung devices only!

The Gear S also comes in a 2.0” Super AMOLED (360×480) display, a 1.0GHz dual core & 512 memory of RAM, 4GB internal and battery that 300mAh.

The Gear S watch looks to offer good solutions for connectivity. It supports Wi-Fi, 3G/2G Networks, and Bluetooth 4.1.

The device is said to start shipping global in October this year. It will come in Back, White colors.

LG’s G watch R

And LG’s G watch R – Black, is a round smartwatch 1.3” plastic OLED (320×320). Its CPU is 20% faster – 1.2GHz QUALCOMM Snapdragon 400, 512 of RAM, 4GB internal storage. Its battery will support up to 410mAh.

The G watch R also supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0, no 3G support. The device could launch same time as Samsung’s Gear S.

Manufactures of G Watch R and Gear S may not have provided full specs of its device(s). Either, they have withheld certain specifics from public until they actually have them official or just playing safe. But thanks to the images, at least we have a glimpse of what we should expect. Which one of the two has impressed you, this far?
