Google's Nexus 7 is now available to buy through the Play StoreGoogle Company has announced that it has begun selling its Nexus 7 Android tablet through its online store in Australia.

Almost two months down the line after Google officially unveiled the device globally; the new Nexus 7 is officially available through Google’s Play Store online. This announcement follows the official launch three weeks ago on the sale through selected Australian retail stores.

The 16GB Wi-Fi model of the new Nexus 7 sells for $299, while the 32GB Wi-Fi model is available for $339.

The new pricing represents an increase of $50 and $40, respectively, compared to Nexus 7, 2012 version. However, Google confirmed it has started selling a 32GB Wi-Fi+LTE version of the Nexus 7 for $439.

All three models have a listed dispatch time of between 1-2 days and include free shipping for a “limited time”.

The new Nexus 7 tablet features a slightly different design and has a host of upgraded specifications compared to its predecessor, headed by a full HD display.

The tablet is also 2mm thinner (8.65mm) than the original, weighs 50g lighter (290g) and includes a 5-megapixel rear-camera, a feature that wasn’t present on the first tablet.

The Nexus 7 is also available now through JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman and Dick Smith retail stores across Australia.
