Google splits Hangouts into two – Hangouts Meet, and Hangouts chat
Google has been working on different ways in improvising the way people interact with Google Hangouts. Now, Google has split the Google hangouts app into Hangouts Meet, and Hangouts chat.
Hangouts meet is a video conferencing, and audio communication app, designed to be as easy to use as possible. The main purpose for this app is to bring teams together, and for better. The iOS version came out before the official announcement, but at least now it’s also live on Google play.
The new Hangouts Chat will be about team messaging. That means the application, which will be available on Android, iOS and the web, will offer rooms – like slack.
The Hangouts meet, takes no time to set up for first use. Users need to connect their Google account and give it the proper permissions, so its limited in some way.
The user interface consists of the video screen and meeting schedule. You can as well insert a meeting link directly. So, convenient, right?
With Hangouts Meet app you will be able to meet with teams through an invite, but to enjoy the FULL capabilities you have to be a G Suite authorized member. This may not be an issue since, G Suit has a wide range of users worldwide, and its usual a few clicks to join G Suit to join. It’s just one way marketing strategy for Google.
