Galaga Special Edition Free – Fans of classic arcade games may be pleased to know Namco Networks has released a new title, Galaga Special Edition, in the Google Play Store. Namco describes the game as being based on the classic title, but with some new twists like better graphics, and devastating weapon power-ups.
The Galaga Special Edition is a retro shooter game, real action on Android with a new version of Namco Bandai’s Galaga. This Special Edition offers 25 levels and boss battles, with advertising funding the action something that’s causing some debate in its Google Play reviews over where the ads appear during the game.
To begin, your spaceship sits at the bottom of the screen with its guns pointing upwards, just like similar to the original game. All the same, you can now move up and down as well as left and right. Also, your primary weapon is a sort of three-way cannon, instead of the iconic puny shooter that frustrated so many of us. The newfangled cannon are, as expected, easier to aim, but again, it is a huge departure from the original game. There’s also a sort of companion pod that can be deployed to in put some energy in your shooting. I found this pod difficult to use, as it sometimes shot in unpredictable directions.
However, in the game play, target your enemies’ critical weak spots to earn bonuses, unlock in-game achievements and rack-up an astronomical score! Blast your way through 25 unique levels and epic boss battles on your mission to defend the galaxy and prevent an intergalactic catastrophe!
One advantage of the just released version of Galaga, is that, the game can be played from all inclusive Android base smartphones, as it only requires Android version 2.0 or later. Well, most Android users own devices that run v2.2.3 and up, so this is a pretty nice deal. Therefore, try same classic gameplay that made Galaga a hit back in the early ’80s. It is all free for download.

Galaga Special Edition is well received, though, most user are not very comfortable with the ads that pop up ALL THE TIME. I think this is one fact that has contributed to its low rating of Two.7/5 star at Google play market.
