Cardboard Camera

Cardboard Camera app Icon Cardboard Camera is the official Google app that lets you record 360-degree VR photos that can be played back in a Google Cardboard viewer (moments in time that you can relive in virtual reality).

Users simply press the record button, then turn in a circle as video is recorded and converted into the stereoscopic vision used by Cardboard.

The app can also record a minute or so of ambient sounds (Hear the sounds as they happened). At the moment the only share option is direct – there’s no online gallery for Cardboard-compatible photos.

VR photos are 3D, so things near to you look close and distant things look far away. Whether it’s a holiday getaway or a family get-together, VR photos will bring you back to that moment.

To experience your photos in VR, pop your phone into a Google Cardboard viewer (http://g.co/cardboard).

Features:

  • Take beautiful panoramic photos with depth and sound that you can see and hear in VR.
  • Download and start capturing immediately. No sign-up or account required.
  • View photos in virtual reality using Google Cardboard.

NOTE: Do not use this app while driving, walking or in any way that distracts or disorients you from real-world situations and prevents you from obeying traffic or safety laws.

This application is available on Google play store, for free. It requires Android 4.4 or higher.
